On our most recent visit to Kaiser Fontana we brought Christmas Spirit with us from the North Pole. Mr and Mrs Claus themselves flew all the way to sunny California once again. With them, came Christmas Comfort Build-a-Bags with toys, blankets, stuffed animals and hand made Christmas cards.
Kohl’s Cares volunteers helped carry Comfort Build-a-Bag’s with Spider-Man, Belle, Snow White, Pocohantas and Elsa. Going through the pediatric ward, this was a show stopping group of characters. We surprised a lot of families, and children posed for photos and opened their Comfort Build-a-Bag’s. Santa even brought a few things for their siblings, making sure nobody was left out.
Spider-Man gave something special to a young patient. This particular patient loves Spider-Man and has been visited by our program 4 times before. Together they opened the Comfort Build-a-Bag, and his special present. What was inside? His very own Spider-Man mask, and web slingers so he can be Spider-Man too! This was one of the most touching moments of the visit.
Toys on this visit, and all of our visits come mainly from our yearly, Operation Santa Christmas Toy Drive. This Toy Drive has helped families for over 11 years, and is a big part of our December Christmas Comfort Build-a-Bag visit.
After going room to room, Santa and Mrs. Claus flew away back to the north pole to get ready for the big day. They said they would be back again next year! We want to thank everyone that continues to support our mission and programs. Thank you for Believing in Us.
Merry Christmas
