On June 25 we held our Monthly Cure Hunger Now Community Food Outreach in Banning. Banning Outreaches are every last Saturday of the month except for the Holiday Season which will be Nov-Dec on the 2nd Saturday. This outreach is available for families from 9-11a at Repplier Park while supplies last. Volunteers from the Kids Cures Foundation, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints came together to make this outreach another great success.
Volunteers helped load and unload the trailers/trucks, and others helped pack/give out boxes. Everyone came together to quickly get out as much food as possible. It is truly inspiring to see everyone come together and have fun doing it. At this outreach we had great quality USDA items from our partner Feeding America. Inside each bag included various items such as USDA Catfish, Mac and Cheese, Bread, Boxed Milk, Oatmeal, Raisins, Green Beans, Peanut Butter, Pistachios and more!!! Each box is enough food to make many meals.
According to the USDA, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, in the United States are food insecure.
