Kids Cures Foundation’s Princess Pauline Float Wins Big in the 101st Cherry Festival Parade

On June 1, 2019 the citizens of Beaumont lined the streets of Beaumont Ave to watch the 101st Cherry Festival Parade. For 101 years the Cherry Festival has been bringing the community out and together for the fun festivities. Our float was designed to honor the young life of Pauline Jackson. She was a very sweet girl who loved unicorns and princesses. Kids Cures Foundation mailed Pauline her very own Comfort Build-a-Bag with all the things she loved as pictured below.

Pauline was diagnosed with a brain tumor called, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Her happily ever after began on March 17, 2019. Kids Cures Foundation volunteer Brianna Presley led the float planing, honoring her life with the things she loved the most. The float’s trailer was donated to us by Kyle Clifton, and it was perfect! With flowers flowing down all sides, and unicorn colored borders, pink and white skirts, Princess Pauline float rolled down Beaumont Ave to the music of Disney Princesses.

Elsa and Anna, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Snow White, and Cinderella rode the float waving and blowing kisses to the crowd. Music from each movie played blending together a beautiful mix that brought out the magic. Our All Star Elizabeth and Cures Club volunteers held our banner and right behind them were not one, but two unicorns! Wowing kids of all ages, Pauline's float touched the hearts of kids and adults. Her float was perfectly magical and little girls were in awe, and some even crying.

The spirit of the Princess Pauline float started the parade as the #10 entry and first official float of the parade. Our President Vicki Grunewald was #9 as Citizen of the year for Beaumont and got to ride in a convertible. This parade was a great way to connect with the community and share Pauline’s story.

This very special float ended up winning 1st place in the float sweepstakes! This trophy is over 4 feet tall and is gorgeous. Kids Cures Foundation invited the family of Pauline Jackson to view the parade at our office with the perfect view. Afterwards her family took pictures with the float, unicorns and princesses. Kids Cures Foundation’s Garden of Hope now includes the rock of Princess Pauline. Pauline will forever remain with us at the Kids Cures Foundation. This was all in honor of Princess Pauline, and we want to thank everyone that helped make this happen, we won for Pauline.

Courage, Strength, Hope
