Our Operation Santa toy drive has helped families during Christmas for 11 years. This year we had to adjust our Christmas Party with Santa and Mrs Claus. Normally, families would come have cookies with Mr and Mrs Claus. Due to this year and its trials and tribulations, toys were delivered to families that applied online. Over 40 families received toys from Santa. Children got to say hello to Santa at a distance if they wanted to. Some kids posed for photos and thanked Mr and Mrs Claus for stopping by. Other families drove down to pick up their toys if they lived further way, getting to receive a big bag of toys and see Santa.
On December, 17 our Operation Santa team visited Kaiser. Kids Cures has been partnered with Kaiser for many years, delivering to their pediatric ward with Characters and volunteers via Comfort Build-a-Bag Program. Due to COVID we had to alter this years delivery to the hospital. Our team dropped off huge bags of toys to nurses and doctors; these doctors and nurses will safely deliver each toy to each child. We wish we could have gone room to room with Santa, we hope to be back to our regular visits sometime in 2021.
